I Can’t Change an Employee’s Email Address

If you see the error:

“The email address specified already exists within SubItUp…”

it means the email you’re trying to use is already associated with another employee account (active or archived).

To prevent data issues, SubItUp does not allow duplicate email addresses. Combining two accounts incorrectly could merge their historical data into one employee.


What to Do

If Both Emails Belong to the Same Employee

Contact Support to merge the accounts:

Provide:

  • Confirmation that both emails belong to the same employee

  • The current (incorrect) and new (correct) email addresses

  • Which email should be used going forward


If the Email Was Entered Incorrectly (No History Needed)

  1. Create a new employee with the correct email address.

  2. Archive the employee with the incorrect email.

During archiving, choose how to handle future shifts:

  • Delete All Future Shifts

  • Make All Future Shifts Available

  • Reassign All Future Shifts

You can then reassign any shifts to the new employee.
