How to Auto-Generate an Unassigned Schedule Template

If you do not need to collect employee availability, you can generate shifts as unassigned. Employees can then pick up these shifts on a first-come, first-served basis once the schedule is published.

Generate an Unassigned Schedule

  1. From the left-side menu, click Schedule.

  2. Select Generate.

  3. Choose a Position.

  4. Select the day of the week the schedule should start.

  5. Enter the Start Date and End Date.

  6. In Generate as Available, select Shifts Will Be Unassigned / Available.

  7. In Generate for Days, select the days of the week you want to generate shifts for.

  8. Click Add This Position.

To add additional positions, repeat steps 3–7.

  1. Drag and drop position titles to adjust their order if needed.

  2. Click Continue.

  3. (Optional) For shift-based positions, select Manual Generation to assign specific employees before generating remaining shifts.

  4. Click Auto-Generate.

  5. When generation is complete, click View Calendar.

Notes

  • Generated shifts appear at the bottom of the calendar under Available Shifts.

  • All generated shifts are unpublished and will not be visible to employees until the schedule is published.
