How to Allow Employees to Clock In and Out for Unscheduled Shifts
By default, employees are expected to clock in and out for scheduled shifts. If you'd like employees to be able to clock in even when they are not scheduled, you can enable Unscheduled Time Management for a position.
How to Configure Unscheduled Time
- From the left navigation menu, go to Time Clock > Configuration > Position Configuration.
- Select the position you would like to update.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Locate the setting above the Manager Override Configuration section labeled Allow employees to clock in during times they are not scheduled.
- Toggle this setting On.
- Select Save to save your changes.
What Happens When This Setting Is Enabled?
Once enabled, employees assigned to that position will be able to clock in and out even if they do not have a scheduled shift on the calendar.
