Why Can’t I Remove Archived Employees?

If you’re trying to remove employees from the Archived Staff list, you may notice that this is not an available option.

Why Archived Employees Cannot Be Deleted

Archived employees cannot be permanently removed because SubItUp retains their data for historical and record-keeping purposes.

This helps ensure:

  • Accurate reporting and payroll history
  • Compliance with data retention requirements (many organizations and municipalities require records to be kept for a set period of time)

What Happens to Archived Employees?

  • Archived employees are inactive and no longer appear in scheduling workflows
  • They do not count toward your active staff limit
  • After 2 years, archived employees are automatically hidden from the archived list to keep it uncluttered

Do Archived Employees Affect My Account?

No. You can have an unlimited number of archived employees, and they will not impact your active staff count.
