Why Are All Employees Showing as Scheduling Conflicts?
If all employees are appearing as scheduling conflicts and cannot be assigned to shifts, one possible cause is the Consecutive Minutes and Gap Minutes settings in Global Availability.
These settings are advanced scheduling rules that control how long an employee can work continuously and how much unscheduled time they must have between shifts.
What These Settings Mean
Consecutive Minutes
The maximum number of consecutive scheduled minutes an employee can work in a day without a gap of unscheduled time.
Gap Minutes
The minimum amount of unscheduled time an employee must have between shifts across all positions. This setting is used together with Consecutive Minutes.
Why This Can Cause Scheduling Conflicts
If these settings are turned on without the correct configuration, SubItUp may treat employees as unavailable or in conflict, even when they appear otherwise available.
In many cases, this can cause:
- All staff to show as scheduling conflicts
- Employees to become unavailable for shifts unexpectedly
- Managers to be unable to assign or auto-generate schedules
When to Check This Setting
Review these settings if:
- All employees are suddenly showing as conflicts
- You are unable to assign employees to shifts
- Scheduling worked previously and stopped after availability or global settings were changed
Where to Find This Setting
These settings are located in the Global Availability area of SubItUp.
See: How to Set Rules for Employee Availability and Scheduling
Important Note
These settings are intended for very specific use cases and should only be enabled if your team has a clear operational need for them.
If you are not intentionally using Consecutive Minutes and Gap Minutes, turning them off or reviewing their configuration may resolve the issue.
