The Add Shift Utility allows employees to create their own custom shifts on the employee side of SubItUp. This tool needs to be enabled in the Manager's shift template tools for select positions.
Within this tool a manager creates the rules or guidelines that a employee can create a shift within.These rules limit the dates,hours,shift length and how many shifts may be created at the same time. Once created these shifts appear in SubItUp as a regular shifts and can be view and tracked in the manager calendar and reports.
For example a manager may have enabled the add shift utility only for their "Personal Trainer" Position for the month of December. The manager can edit the allowed hours for each day of the week. Perhaps this is 9am to 10pm weekdays and 10am to 11pm Weekends. They will also set a minimum and maximum shift length. If there were only 2 available rooms for personal trainers to use the manager would also set the number of staff allowed to 2. This way no more then 2 shifts can be created for the same timeframe.
