How to Navigate to the Edit Employee Availability Pop-Up Menu:
As a manager you are able to edit your employees availability at any time. To edit their availability click on the "Manage Availability" icon, , in the managers dashboard. On this page you will see a list of your employees; on the right hand side under the column labeled "Details" you can click on the "View / Edit" link to set or edit your employees availability.
How to Set Shift Availability:
Setting "Shift Availability" lets SubItUp know which shifts your employees prefer to work, are available to work, and are unavailable to work. This availability will then be used when generating schedules and used when manually assigning shifts to employees.
If your employee has not set their shift based availability all of the shift boxes will be the color orange or "-", this indicates that they are unavailable to work these shifts.
The “(+) = Available” button indicates that your employee is available to work the shift and it is a preferred shift.
The “NP = No Preference” button indicates that your employee is available to work the shift but it is not a preferred shift.
The “(-) = Unavailable” button indicates that your employee is unavailable to work the shift.
Below we see Bob is available to work the Monday shift(Green) but cannot work the Tuesdays shift(Orange). Also he is technically available to work the rest of the shifts but they are not Bob's first choice(Grey).
If you plan to create the schedule using the auto generation tool note that the system will never automatically assign a shift to someone who said they could not work(orange). Also the auto generation tool may assign a shift to someone who was marked as No Preference(Grey) but it would try to assign to someone who said they would like to work fist(Green).
