Employee requests to add or drop shifts can be easily managed from the Calendar page. When viewing the Calendar page a shift that has a pending request will appear in red text, and if you click on it you will be able to manage the shift.
How to Handle a Request to Drop a Shift:
You can see in the Calendar screen shot below there is a pending request to Drop Jonas's shift on 8/3/16.
To manage the pending request click on the Red number in the corner "1" on the shift and you will get a pop-up menu where you can manage the shift.
If you click the approve button, , the shift will become unassigned from the employee and the shift will become an available shift.
If you click the deny button, , the shift will remain assigned to the employee requesting the drop. The shift will also now be unavailable for other employees in the department to add.
This option will simultaneously approve the shift drop and assign an employee of your choice to the shift. To do this, simply select an employee from the drop down menu and click the assign shift button, . Once clicked the requested drop will be approved and the shift will be reassigned to the employee you selected.
How to Handle a Request to Add a Shift:
If there is a request to add an available shift, a blue number representing how the number of staff requesting to work the shift will appear on the shift. By clicking on the blue Number on the shift you will see a pop-up menu like the one below...
If you click the approve button, , the shift will be assigned to the employee and it will no longer be available for other staff to add the shift.
If you click the deny button, , the shift will remain available for other employees to add to their schedule.
