If your manager has turned the "Drop Partial Shifts" option on you will be able to not only drop your entire shift but you will also be able to drop part of your shift.
Drop Partial Shift Example:
To drop part of your shift click on the drop button, , as you normally would. In the pop-up menu that loads you will need to select a "Reason" and type in an "Explanation." You should then select your notification option which will notify you by email or text when coverage has been found for your shift. Finally from the "Partial Drop:" section select the "From" and "To" times of your shift that you wish to drop. For example, if the shift has been originally scheduled from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm, you could request to drop or offer the 10:00 am - 12:00 pm portion of the shift.
By clicking the "Confirm" button the original shift of 8:00 am - 12:00 pm will be broken up into two shifts with the 10:00 am - 12:00 pm portion of the shift would be placed in a dropped status
If you decide to cancel the partial drop the two shifts will be merged back into the original one shift.
With this feature enabled you may request to drop a portion of your shift or request to drop a recurring shift on your schedule for several weeks at once.
