Swapping a Shift
Were you assigned a shift that you can't work or would prefer not to work, but don't want to lose the hours? Then swapping a shift with a co-worker may be your best option.
First, click on the shift you would like to swap.
A screen with pop-up providing you with two options, "Open Swap" or "Closed Swap."
An "Open Swap" lets your co-workers know you want to swap a specific shift and are willing to pick up one of their shifts in return. If a co-worker does offer to swap a shift with you, you will then have the opportunity to accept or reject the offer.
A "Closed Swap" provides you with the opportunity to browse your co-workers shifts and to make an offer to swap shifts with them. Once you make an offer, your co-worker then has the opportunity to accept or reject the shift swap.
#3. Once you have clicked the swap it button the shift will show up in blue on your calendar.
At any time you can click “Cancel Swap” to retract the offer. When your co-worker signs in to their SubItUp account they will see the shift you are requesting in blue and they will have the option to “Approve/Deny” the offer.
Once your co-worker clicks approve, the swap request will be sent to your manager for approval (Note: Depending on your manager this step may be skipped if they have selected the automatic approvals for swap option.)
Once your manager has approved the swap, the shifts will be swapped on your calendars and displayed in black font.
